Understanding The Brain & Helping Children Manage Worry & Anxiety
This is a two part 2-hour online workshop to give parents an understanding of the brain and how its development is important for how we help children and young people manage emotions, as well as providing practical skills based on scientific research and evidence around managing worry and anxiety. Helping parents understand how to manage and help their child with anxiety & worry is the best strategy for preventing difficulties in the future.
This workshop is helpful for parents of children who struggle with anxiety, worries & phobias and/or those who become easily overwhelmed with emotions, and often scream, shout, tantrum and ‘lash out’ verbally
Tasks to practice at home with your child and handouts will be provided and part of the second session will be used to talk about how these activities helped and/or iron out any difficulties you might have had putting them into place.
